Why Money Is Not Taught in School

In Robert Kiyosaki's online book "Conspiracy of the Rich" he said that our school system teaches us to be ideal employees, to not question our rulers or rise above them. True education was to be limited to the son and daughters of the elite. For the rest, it would be better to produce skilled workers with no particular aspirations other than to enjoy life.

True enough he was right, our traditional school system teaches us to be one of two things:
1. To be someone (i.e. engineer. doctor, lawyer etc.)
2. To do something (i.e. design software, set-up networks etc.)

We are taught to be obedient employees. To not be late, wear your I.D. to adhering to the proper haircut. Their reason? "It's because when you work you will also do that". True enough when we work we were given the "company rules and regulation" and violation of will only give you suspensions or worse termination.

But when are we taught the importance of taking control of your finances? Of course some of you will disagree, that we are taught economics, engineering economy, and also that I have an MBA. True those are important subjects in business, but they are taught because you will use them for the benefit of Someone Else's business, in other words in employment.

Son and Daughters of the elite aka "rich" have a different path. And of course some of them also study in the traditional school, but their true education is at home, Where they are sometimes running a business at the same time they are studying at school. Their education is in the outside world, outside of the four corners of the room as they say, and others call it street smarts. Because that's the way the rich teach their kids, to study hard and then find a good company to buy, not work for.

Now what can middle class to poor people like us can do to educate ourselves on the subject of money. Simple, we find books on the things we like to learn or attend seminars. Another is working to learn a skill that you want to learn. For example you want to learn how to sell, or basically just want to remove yourself of your shyness or your fear of rejection or to increase your negotiation skills, then it will do you good to find a job in sales. And on and on because the best way of learning is by doing. You just can't learn something by just reading a book, you just have to have the discipline to put it into action.

"If you think education is expensive, try ignorance"
- Benjamin Franklin

Another is through finding mentors who have also done the things that you want to do, in that way they can tell what works and what does not. I know it's really hard to find mentors who will take the time to teach the subject of money, because most rich people just want to keep it in the family. But there are still plenty of people who would take the time to educate you if you just show that you are committed and open-minded because the more you give, the more you receive, and teaching is one form of giving.

So my invitation to you is to start now and take action. Nobody else is gonna take you out to fishing. You just have to take responsibility for yourself and remember that two heads are better than one, so make sure that when you dive into the world of business you have a good and trusted team with you.

"When there's a will there's a way, when there's a team there's more than one way"
-17 Indisputable Laws of Teamwork

For me, I have been blessed to have both mentoring and the benefit of having a team in one. As a member of the create abundance business community, I had the chance of learning very important business skills as well as surround myself with people who thinks just like me in the subject of money and at the same time we are helping others by teaching them and empowering them with regards to financial literacy. And if ever you are interested in our community just visit our site at www.ca2020.net

So again my invitation to you is to take action today and keep moving forward. Cause when others see the bad thing others see opportunity.

Thank you.
